I am currently running Novell Version 5.0 with the latest SP5 installed. I have also installed Revelation NLM 5.0 and have verified that it is running at the server. We are running Windows 98 2nd edition at the workstation level with Novell Client 32 version 3.1.0.0.

I have forced the server to run Frame Type 802.2 and the same at the workstation.

I have created the REVPARAM file. It reads ServerOnly=True and it is in the AREV root directory and all the subdirectories.

All files are flagged Read, Write and Shareable and the users has full rights to these files.

The batch file to run the application contains LHIPXTSR /p.

If you type "who" at the TCL window is will display "IPX/Advance Netware Version 1.5A in the Vendor Type field.

My problem is that I cannot seem to get the application (AREV 3.111) to recognize that the NLM is running. If I type EDIT SYSTABLES VOC in the TCL window I get the following exact message:

GLOBAL

VOC

ACCTG

RTP57

(Musical Note)00001600009FGLOBAL\REV50013.LK

The last line from above exists whether you view the SYSTABLES VOC in the Application or AREV SYSPROG.

This does not agree with the workstation files verification that is listed on page 36 of the Revelation NLM Installation Guide Version 5.0. If I read it correctly I should see 6 F's and not 1 F.

If anyone could help shed some light on this I would be very appreciative. The folks at Revelation feel I have done all I should have and seem to be at loose ends.

Thank you

If you had properly installed the Workstation side of the NLM you should - at TCL - be able to execute NLM_STATS. This provides lots of info about locking activity. If no locking activity then it confirms you need to check further.

In addition to my other information I neglected to mentioned that when I type NLM_STATS at a TCL prompt it tell me that it is an unrecognized word. That confirms to some degree that it does not appear to be running at the workstation level.

I have managed to resolve my problem by running AREV LANPACK and reselecting the IPX/ADVANCED NETWARE Driver 1.5a and pressing F9.

I want to confirm that it was correctly displaying this driver when you executed WHO at a TCL prompt before I did the reinstall of the driver.

As soon as I did this I was able to get the 6 F's when exectuting the EDIT SYSTABLES VOC command just as shown on Page 36.
