I am having trouble calling WINWORD using the RUNWIN command. I can use it to call NOTEPAD, CALC, WORDPAD etc with no problem. But I suspect it is the long directory name that is causing the problem. My WINWORD is installed at C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office. The others are in C:\Windows. How can I get around this?

Nick-
Use the short names- eg 'c:\progra~1\micros~1\office\winword.exe'
A quick way to see the short name is to run 'WINFILE' from the Start-Run command line, find the file you want, and choose file-properties on that file. Just cut and paste the text into wherever you need it.
Hope it helps-
