Hello,

This is probably an easy question, but it has me stumpt. I am in the process of trading up AREV 1.0 to AREV 3.1. I am experencing problems in bring the applications over. Basicly in the Updating Application entries. It isn't seeing any off the applications from the old AREV. Is there another way to bring all that stuff over... Such as with an Environmental Bond? And if so, which is the easiest way? Thanks

I just did a tradeup at home from 2.03 to 3.12. I copied the datavol (where I kept my stuff) from \arev to \arev31.

I also followed the instructions in the tradup manual in terms of copying the stuff from the old arev to the new. It worked for me. I did encounter a couple of hitches in terms of routines (index.flush for example) but I was able to get everything going ok.

Environmental bonds could be a problem. If you're using the 'demo' DBase and ASCII bonds that come with ARev it should be okay. Any third party bonds may be using the assembler or C interface and there were changes between ver 1.x and 2.0x which could cause assembler routines to stop functioning.

If possible contact the developer of the bonds and see if they have an updated version that will work with ARev 3.12.

Also there have been changes to the MFS branch calls in most major version upgrades too. This can cause problems also but there are work arounds.
