I just got a new 1Ghz Athlon, when I first got the computer it had Windows ME and I got everything set up and Arev was working fine. Then the hard drive failed and when they put a new hard drive in the installed Windows 98. I set things up but now Arev locks up when I run it.

I am using the same shortcut that everyone else in the office uses and no one else has any problems. I can load and unload the TSR but when I run Arev it freezes and I have to turn the machine off, it won't even reboot with Ctrl-Alt-Delete. When I run Arev without the TSR it gives me the RevParams error, but when I run it with the TSR it just freezes. I am running

Win 98 4.10.2222A

Novell Netware Client 32 for windows version 3.21

Arev 3.12

Server running Novell 4.11

If you need any more info please be specific, I will try to provide anything else you need to help me.

Sounds like a memory issue. One or all of the ram chips could be bad in addition to the bad hard drive.

Apparently it was the Novell Client. I had seen an earlier post saying that AREV would not run with Version 3.21 of the Novell 32 bit client for Windows. I went back to version 3.1 and everything seems to work great. I had thought that when I was running Windows ME I had been using the Client Version 3.21.

I am happy now that things are blazing along.
