Getting application log errors running UD3 and occasional slow down/hang of OpenInsight . Only thing in any logs maybe 5 times a day is the followin. But I'm not sure if it is the cause of slowdown or a symptom of it or not related at all. The full message is as below.

My gut feeling is it is dropped sessions because the server is slowing down.

"The description for Event ID ( 30000 ) in Source ( LinearHash ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: LHOpenSession, 1022, 0, 0, ???.."

Thanks for any thoughts.

Hi Tony

That error is in fact an FS1022: "Maximum number of OpenInsight users exceeded." error and it cannot be reported by OI because the REVERROR.DAT file is not present or cannot be found.

Ahh thank you!

Not sure if or why the error file is missing I'll have a look.

Odd! The REVERROR.DAT file is there and the user group has full access rights to the appropriate share as does SYSTEM user. Would you still expect to see that event log error rather than a more meaningful "Number of Users" type message. Or could it be something else completely.

Thanks

The error is in fact an FS1022: "Maximum number of OpenInsight users exceeded." but it is not finding OI to report it.

It could be that the network connection has failed. What Network are you running on?

Tony,

What version server are you running on? Do you have any TS users logging into the app? Is the UD running Named Pipes or TcpIp? Is there any consistancy when those five errors pop into the event viewer?

Thanks!

To find the offending file use the LH Verify utility.

Login to OpenInsight in development mode and launch the database manager.

On the menu bar choose "Utilities" -] "OpenInsight Tables" -] "LH Verify"

The window will allow you to fix the errors. It is recommended that you backup your existing application before fixing the error.
