A client's system in ARev 3.12 has user conversion called MONTH_CONV (converts MM/YY to internal integer). It needs some tweaking but I can't find the source code anywhere. Is this something from RTI such as PHONE_FORMAT or ZIP_FORMAT that was included in the sample/utility in 2.x and beyond? If so, is the source code available? (I'll check the CServe libraries this evening).

Thanks,

Warren

The CIS forum was officially dead this morning.

I think MONTH_CONV is not an RTI thing.

RE: CIS Forum - the end of an era.

I guess I'll have to reverse engineer MONTH_CONV.

It should not be too hard to figure out what the routine does. The internal integer, does it appear to be along the same order as an internal date somewhere in the month involved? If so, it would be my guess that a particular date was substituted in between the month and the year to form a date, this was then ICONVed to reach the desired results. Care to post some sample results? Possibly as a challenge to figure out what happens? Hey, you never know, it could be fun!!! (Yes, I do have a warped idea of fun.)

Warren,

     MONTH_CONV is an RTI conversion. It can be found in the RTI

SYSOBJ table if you are using Arev 3.12. You may be able to get some

help from RTI, maybe not since development of AREV has ceased. Who

knows? I would also check with Aaron Kaplan.

Cheers!

In case no one has said yet:

Date=08/28/98'

a=ICONV( date, 'MONTH_CONV') ;* a=368

a=OCONV(368,'MONTH_CONV') ; * a=08/98

Enough?

Don't think MONTH_CONV was ever placed on CompuServe. Perhaps it was in one of the Developer's Utility Disks? It might have also shipped in there. I know the source was never released in any other format, so if it was made available, it would be in a DUDs disk, probably Vol 4 or 5.
