Web site speed (OpenInsight Specific)

Over the past several weeks, our MIS team has made some improvements to our web-site that should decrease latency when serving pages and improve the success of large downloads. Internally, we have been able to measure significant improvements, but we would like to verify that you have seen an improvement in latency reduction and predictability of service. We are looking for feedback from your experience: Does our site respond significantly slower or less predictably when compared to other USA-based sites?
We'd also like to thank those of you that took the time to supply us with ping routing statistics and feedback on download problems; we were able to use the information to isolate specific problems. Thank you.

There's been noticable improvement from here. This problem was mentioned in passing to Jim A. at the RevSoft presentation here in Melbourne recently. It's good too see such a rapid follow-up. Well done to all concerned.

Today it's lightning fast at least, and better than I've ever seen.

Cameron,
Veerry fast response on the West Coast using a T1 connection.
It used to be look at 2 or 3 postings and then get the 'no response' message.
Thanks!

I always thought it was just us in sunny old Cape Town that had problems… We upgraded to a 56k modem at exactly the same time, nonetheless it is very fast indeed.

Wow! You've upgraded. When I was last there, Mark Martin used to sit at a honeywell page terminal, decifer the incoming ebcidic code, translate off to hex, and export into the NSF files using something he wrote in DEBUG.
Man, that takes me back. Thanks for the fond memories!
