I have just aquired supporting a database written in AREV 2.1, running on MS-DOS. I personally have not touched AREV for at least 15 years and am a little rusty to say the least. It is a "Bakery Ordering/Production" database.
Up until 2 weeks ago it was running fine and now when we click on a menu item "Fast Order Input", it returns the message -"The "ORDERDETAILS" file is not available. .. Press any key to continue..".
On pressing a keyit returns the message:
'ADJ_COLOUR Line 18. B700 Non-dimensioned variable used as an array.
I have found that I get this message only when accessing menu items that are in some way related to the "ORDERDETAILS" file.
Can anyone help me in rectifying the problem and help me get a working database again. Unfortunately, they did not backup their system.

Can you go to TCL (F5) and LIST ORDERDETAILS.
It obviously thinks the file is missing but there could be many reasons. Establish the volume (LISTFILES and look for the volume ORDERDETAILS is on) and LISTVOLUME that directory. See if teh DOS files actually exist. See if the ! file still exists etc. Check teh length of the OV file.
Report back.
