I have setup a workstation running on Windows 2000. Our Arev (2.12) Application runs off a Novell Server (4.12). Each time I load arev, it takes anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes to load up. I have no problems with the NT Workstations. Is there anything I can do to speed this up. Thanks.

Check that the workstation has the default Windows printer set up, and that the Windows shortcut to AREV is not checked as 'Exclusive in Foreground'. Idle sensitivity to 75%.

The overhead you describe is common during the volume attach phase, which drives the CPU utilization very high.

Check too that your network protocols are set up properly in Windows.

We've also seen this behaviour on network segments with mixes of 10mbit and 100mbit cards.
