As a newcomer to this site, forgive me if I'm going over old ground . Has anyone resolved the problem of printing reports in Arev (running under Windows 95 ) using Windows specific printers ? As an example, I've been informed by Epson support that their Stylus Color 400 is not DOS compatible as it does not support Esc/P2 control codes but uses Raster instead.

We have problems as well in that all our printer output through

Windows95 workstations only comes out as 12 pitch.

Cannot get printouts in compressed mode.

If you ever find the answer please let me know.

I have tried extensivly to fix this problem.

There are a few things I can tell you, though I don't know how much use they'll be. First off, if all else fails, you can always write the printer codes direct to an ASCII file and output that directly to the printer. For some reason, even though Win95 and NT might eat the printer codes when direct printing from ARev, they don't when a TYPE FILE]LPT1 or COPY FILE LPT1 /b is used.

Second, I've had the best luck in setting the printer spool settings to print directly to the printer and to unckeck the spool MS Print jobs option.

Terry/Aaron,

Thanks for your responses. Having now had time to find my way around this site I wish I'd accessed it long before now. I've done a search for printing items and from the resultant list it looks as if this is becoming one of the major headaches with Arev apps. Certainly the list of items will take ages to wade through.

I'll give the suggestions a try and if I have any success I'll let you know.
