Just added some menu items to my main_window.

The last two items in the menu structure stoped working.

Removed some of the menu items and the last two started working again.

Does OI 3.7.1 P3 have some kind of limit on the total number of menu items a form can contain?

I'm pretty sure it's 110. This is not to be confised with the 115 control limit on a screen.

There is also a limit on the length of the menu items- about 35 characters or so.

I guess I am going to have to move things around.

Just for reference, the 35 char limit on menu names includes the window.menu.whatever so a view display option off an action menu on window customers would be CUSTOMER.MENU.PRINT.VIEW.DISPLAY.

I dont think there is a 110 menu limit, I have loads more and is OK.

Certainly the limit to the length applies, and making the first menu option more Microsoft compliant helps (eg File, Edit, View etc).

One problem you should watch out for is the status bar help that you can associate with each option. If you use this and have lots of options you may find that the ENTIRE menu structure will be lost when you try and save it. Recommend archiving to allow the entitity to be recovered if the need arises.

May not be applicable to current OI versions, but certainly was under older OI versions.

Presentation Server imposes a limit of 256 menu items in a menu. Form Designer may also have a limit for the number of controls; Gene thinks it is 128.

Menu names are limited to 60 characters, which includes the window name, "*", instance id, ".MENU.", and the menu id (e.g. "FILE.OPEN").

Menu help text is also limited to 60 characters.
