Has anyone had a problem where, using EditFind, the editbox does not scroll up so that the found word selected is visible? This seems to happen only on a couple of machines and there doesn't appear to be any obvious cause. They are W98 machines, but there are other W98 that don't have the problem. Any ideas where this problem might lie?

Hi Matt

Do these special machines have (or had ever) wheel mice installed?

Yes they do, but so do the machines that don't have the scroll problem - which seems to rule that out?

Hi Matt

Just theorising here…

We found that wheel mice installed on Windows 95, with OI 3.7, definitely stuffed scrolling and searches with System Editor (Not so sure about edit boxes).

And it seems with the latest versions of Windows 2000 (SP2 or Norwegian) that this has gone away.

So I am wondering if the problem might be related to particular versions of the wheel mouse drivers or operating systems, like a newer version of win98 or a version with the latest service pack, wouldn't show the problem, where the older versions might.

Or I could be completely wrong. Especially if your machines were set up with identical Op Systems and wheel mouse drivers…

forward slash, back slash, same tag thing right?

Matt,

I've got a wheel mouse on my Windows 2000 computer. No problem.

I've tried a different input device - a Wacom Graphire pen/mouse/board thing on both my Windows 2000 computer and Windows 98 computer. On the first computer I got problems, on the second one not. The problems occured in System Editor, but were different from the one you have. I got rid of it by removing both the hardware and the drivers.

Thanks Scott and Oystein,

They have installed new drivers and all seems to work now.
