I have this little problem with AREV every time I run VREPAIR on the volume containing our application. After running VREPAIR, AREV will not execute. When I try to run it I get this error:

Linear Hash IPX Driver - REVMEDIA OPEN Error FS472

Unable to Open Boot Media Map

I have to restore from backup to get it to work. The first couple of times I only had to restore the files in the root directory but yesterday I had to restore the entire application (although this may have been a fluke because I still had to down the server and reboot the workstation before it would work). Any thoughts on this? I am using the 1.1 NLM on Novell 4.11 with AREV 3.03.

TIA,

kevin

Check that

(a) everyone is off the server before running vrepair (no background indexing workstation, print servers, etc.)

(b) all files after running vrepair have a Novell owner. NDIR /A gives this to you in Novell 3.x

© you run vrepair continually until you get *two* error-free passes, then restart the server

(d) that all non-Novell nlm's are unloaded prior to running vrepair

Hope this helps

Steve
