I am attempting to install a Citrix Metaframe server to give remote users access to Advanced Revelation. I am running Advanced Revelation from an Novell 4.11 server. I can run AREV using the gateway services for Netware on NT with no problem except for the fact it's a little slower. At one point I had the Novell Client 4.7 running with AREV, but removed it to tweak some things on the server and then reinstalled it. Now when I run AREV I get a maximum number of variables exceeded error. Any ideas on how to overcome this problem?

Jeff,

That's a very common error which could be fixed by a number of client-side tweaks. Try doing a general search of the website for the error and you should find many reasons/settings to try.

It is best to use the Netware client that ships with Citrix. I have never had any luck using the Novell Netware Clients on the CItrix host and I believe that Citrix advises against installing them. Try reinstalling the GSN.

Jeff -

I'm having the same problem from a different angle. I have the same MetaFrame server in use - no client reinstall - but have transferred ARev to a newer Novell 4.11 server to enhance performance.

My DOS workstations get in okay, but 32-bit (Win95 and MetaFrame) sessions dump out a screenful of "'RTP27' Line 1 B12 File has not been opened" messages followed by "Maximum number of variables exceeded."

Client software is Novell's Client32 v3.10 under 95 and v4.7 on the MetaFrame server. Both have been working fine up to now.

Any suggestions? Please let me know if you've made any progress. Feel free to respond here or e-mail me directly at [email protected]. Thanks in advance…
