Hope someone still remember how. In Merge reports is there away to cause it to write the R/Basic code for the report it generates. Like how you can have LIST with the (SX) option output to RLIST file.

I know it can be done because I found a Row in the SOURCE Table with the same name as my MERGE Name.

The Older I get the fewer things I remember. Errr

That's the first I've heard of this. Are you sure you're not thinking of the output and merge from file option? Can you compile the code and does it run as a Merge document?

Well you got me asking myself "then where did the code come from?"

It turns out I've been working on/off on this report.

Wasn't sure which method to use.. code by hand.. or use one of the

reporting processes. I'm old arev user "v1.16" upped to “3.12” so never messed around

with "v3.12" report generators much..

Ah, okay. The banded report writer is something I almost never use. Just one of those things that seems more trouble than it's worth like QBE and table mode in Windows.

Merge is a much more difficult beastie because it deals with non-columnar presentation of the data fields.
