Since installing NLM on my Novell server, I'm getting an "insufficient disk space" error when using COPYTABLE. There is plenty of disk space.

I found an entry(11) from NLM Tech FAQ that sounds similar but I believe it is refering to a problem installing the NLM. I didn't have any problems installing the NLM.

Some help would be appreciated.

Cal,

Not know about the NLM, but I've seen this problem on Novell servers before. Even though there was plenty of of disk space available, the user account that was logged in had a disk space limitation placed by the Novell server. The server itself was restricting the amount of drive space that user could occupy.

This is the first thing I would check.

FWIW,

This error might occur if

(a) the Novell user disk space limit (Novell accounting) is set too small (ie. the user isn't allowed to use any of the disk space available)

(b) the Novell disk space free on the volume is ] 2.1 gB

(ie. DOS doesn't allow volumes ] 2^31 bytes but Novell does, so the DOS disk space call made by AREV returns a "negative" value)

Restrict the user's available space (Novell accounting) volume to 1.5 gB and see if this helps.

Novell also returns the "Insufficient Disk Space" message when the the "owner" of the file has been removed from the user list. With an "unknown" owner, Novell refuses to allow extensions of the basic dataset when ARev asks for new frames. The problem could exist undetected if data is added but a new frame is not required, or if the file is not accessed under routine use. Then when ARev tries to extend the file, Novell says "no disk space".

The best way to fix this is by resetting the ownership of all files in the ARev directory structure to Supervisor or Admin. Do this with FILER and as a user with Supervisor/Admin rights.
