Lately our clients have been enquiring about using the web and/or open database (e.g. ODBC) for accessing the Linear Hash data, e.g. database access from new technologies such as ActiveX/COM/DCOM (which is becoming extremely popular).

As well as what was metioned above, it would be great to be able to use some of the more common features of Windows 95, such as TreeViews, ListViews and other ActiveX (COM/DCOM) controls.

Is Revelation looking at developing an ActiveX/COM/DCOM control to access its linear hash data, or are we going to have to wait for jLH, which I feel is not going to meet the needs of our users.

I believe java has proven to be very slow (by Corel and Netscape), no matter what virtual machine is used, yet alone for fast data accees. I have had experiance with java, and with each JDK that is released it doesn't seem to be getting any faster.
