I should have put this in the AREV 32 category

Does anybody know how to end a open session.

WE are working with outsaide salespeople and they sometimes "forget" to close their session

thus occupying a user lecens but even more important preveting us form making updates

any suyggestion would be most welcome.

Use the index environment and place a program in the replace background code and command. The program will run everytime even if the system is idle based on the delay seconds before indexing in the hardware environment .

I set the "delay before indexing" to 10 for testing your valuable sugestion and created a background program for the "replace background" process .

the program simply displays the time, but nothing happens .

is there somthing else that needs to be done.

Tom, Bob told you how you have an "inactivity timer" when you use the "replace background process".

What you do with it is up to you.

You can try a EXECUTE "OFF" as your new background process.

I think this will work even if the form otherwise would put up a prompt.
