I got an error message attaching table via UNC. I'm using Network driver 2.1 with WinServer 2003.
run attach_table "\\Optikseis\Drive-G\Arev\HRIS\", "SALARY_DB", "", ""
The error message is:
FS404: The "\\OPTIKSEIS\DRIVE-G\AREV\HRIS\" volume has the same label ("16:31:28 02 OCT 1993") as the "RTP57*\\OPTIKSEIS\DRIVE-G\AREV\HRIS" volume and cannot be attached.
I do not attach anything under g:\arev\hris using the database manager.

DSig,
I am not sure that is Rudhy's problem. If memory serves (from other posts) he is using 4.1.3. Plus, his error message is different than the one Charlie/Marc was getting. In their case it was an invalid volume directory. In Rudhy's case, it is claiming he is trying to attach a volume with the same volume label of one that is already attached (you know, as if he has two different volumes but one was copied from the other and he is trying to attach tables from both of them.)
My only thought is that somehow his DBT is perhaps loading tables from this volume but he doesn't realize it. So when he does his UNC Attach_Table command it is telling him that the volume is a duplicate.
