I have problem which has popped up with a client. They have installed new machines with Windows 7 running under XP emulation - they are currently on Openinsight Version 4.x. They are ok but one machine cannot find the System Editor - from Start - Run - O:\Oinsight\Oinmcfl\DWB.EXE etc whereas the others do. It is weird. I notice that all machines, when you logout, come up with a message "Another process has exclusive access to the engine or the debugger has suspended engine execution. The current process cannot continue" Ok' I have checked, and they tell me that the system has always done that, but it would be nice to get rid of the message. Whether that has anything to do the problem I do not know. Any clues?

XP Mode in windows 7 isn't widely used but the few times I did I noticed that networked drives behaved differently. It didn't appear that I could map drives directly to the server like a traditional computer, I could only connect to drives that were already mapped on the Windows 7 host. This caused the drive to get translated as \\tsclient\o instead of \\server\share. OpenInsight 4 isn't supported and may have problems starting over UNC paths in this environment.

You may need to try a real virtual machine environment or upgrade past OI 4.1.3. Anything prior to OI 4.1.3 may still rely on 16 bit components.
