Has anyone experienced any conflicts with OIPI 3.8 - 4.0.1 and Intel Pentium 4's?

We are getting this error message

Invalid Line in setup information file

Section: FilesCommon

2,,OIPI.EX_,OIPI.EXE,$(APPPATH),,,4/26/2001,147296,$(Overwrite),4.1.0.0

GTT,

I have upgraded from OIPI 3.8 to 4.0.1 on Pentium 4 and Win2K without any problem.

This "invalid line" of yours is from the FilesCommon section of the SETUP.LST or SETUP1.LST file. (Both files contain this line. I used to know the purpose of each of the two files but forget the difference between them.) The line looks exactly like it should be, except I notice the error message doesn't mention the leading "File1= part:

FilesCommon

File1=2,,OIPI.EX_,OIPI.EXE,$(AppPath),,,4/26/2001,147296,$(OverWrite),4.1.0.0

File2=…etc…

…etc…

You might want to check your LST files to see if the line is complete, and the surroundings undamaged. Perhaps you should try with a fresh copy of the 4.0.1 setup in case something is damaged.

Hmmm…. Could it be that you system doesn't know what "AppPath" is??? Uh… what is "AppPath"? I forgot that too.

Glennis, retry the download. If it still doesn't work, drop an email to [email protected] we'll send it to you.

Thanks-

Mike

Of course. The main folder for OI. That's where the file mentioned in that line - OIPI.EXE - is supposed go.

Crossed wires on my behalf.

The error occurs before we even get to select the path were we can specify the APPPATH.

Here is what we do we double click on 'Setup.exe' located in the OIPI folder (or the OIPI4pro folder) were we have extracted all the OIPI files then we get to the first splash screen to which we click past and the error occurs when the path selection screen is visible.

We have tried different versions of OIPI copies which we have had in house and are working for all of our other clients, we even tried downloading fresh versions from the works section but still no success.

Any help will be very much appreciated as our clients are tearing their hair out!

I will forward this as an email to [email protected] in hopes of a solution.

G,

I have really no idea what could be wrong. But I'm not an expert on installations either.

Crazy idea: What if you edit the setup.lst and setup1.lst files and replace all the $(APPPATH) references with the actual path? I'm not sure about the syntax but that can't be to difficult to find out.
