I am running OI 9.0. When running on Windows 2000 or Vista Ultimate everything works well. When I run on Windows XP, however, whenever I change a form and save it, although it says it compiles successfully, only deletions are saved, any additions or changes are not saved. In addition, if the form uses a TAB to move between pages, the TAB is entirely deleted. I did not have this problem when running OI 8.x. Any suggestions?

Additional information: I have re-installed Windows XP SP 3 on each computer with no change. Each computer has over 3 mg RAM

Is it only one specific form that has this issue?

Did you compile this form in OI 9 and then recompile in OI 8? Or, now that you are at OI 9, is the form only been compiled and changed in OI 9?

All have been compiled in OI 9.0 and then transferred to the Windows XP machines. The problem in Windows XP appears to happen only in the screens with many, many fields. It does not happen in screens with only a few fields, even if a tab control is present.

Is there a memory (bucket) setting in Windows XP that is used by the compiler that I need to set at a higher number??? seems like it is a memory handling problem…

I have now built a new computer and installed Windows XP with all updates. I have the same problem with OI 9.0 trying to compile a screen. Another new machine running Vista Home Premium 64 bit works fine. ?? any suggestions for XP

Any error messages or symptoms?

Is this a very large routine?

I seem to recall someone having a similar problem and solved it by re-installing/upgrading OI.

Is there any font distortion when you view the form on XP in the form designer?

I encountered a problem in the lab where one of the vista systems didn't have a standard font. When the form was saved and compiled on that system it worked fine until I tried to recompile it on XP (and maybe even a different version of OI). It was a special circumstance but it was a combination of the font, recompiling between OI versions, and Vista/XP.

If you compile the form on Vista and run it on the XP machine will it work? Is compiling the only problem?

Thanks to all trying to help…

Jared: Whether compiled in Vista or XP - the problem persists. Compiling appears to be the only problem.

Bob: Yes, the problem only happens when I am compiling a very large screen (three or more pages with many fields and with OI tabs. There are no other symptoms. There is no error message - it says the screen compiled successfully, however when I then open the screen in either the form designer or in runtime, the tabs and any field(s) I added are missing.

Warren: I will try re-installing the upgrade and let you know.
