We had a strange issue installing OI10 on a client's server.

Here is the long version.

OI10 is on logical drive P:\oinsight10

with revparam (Serveronly=0) (we wanted to go one step at a time)

the client's DATA is on P:\data10 (copy of data ex OI9) - no revparamvice, which we did.

Still

ran Oi10 and attached the P:\data, but OI indicated there were no data files

We then decided maybe we should try installing the LH service, which we did - ok

Still cant see the DATA10

Last resort - not expecting to 'work' we copied the revparam from OI10 to the P:\DATA10

Now it can 'see' the data.!!!

the data10 is on the same server, same physical drive as OI10.

Why did we have to do that?

The UD 5 defaults to "ServerOnly=1" when Revparam is missing. So by NOT having Revparam in the folder and by NOT having the UD Service running, OI 10 was unable to get control over the files.

I see that now.

Just wondering, if in the root of Oi10 you have revparam with port 1777 and no revparam in the data folder (outside of the root as in my senario), if then no revparam in data folder and it defaults to serveronly=1, would that then mean it would be using namedpipes (which I assume is still the default when you only have serveronly=1)
