Has anyone drawn polygons using OIPI and have text (dimensions) along each side and in the same plane of the polygon. I have a carpet layer client who wants a printout of various shapes of carpet. The dimensions are in OI as part of the estimating module. Any help would be much appreciated.

TIA

I use the set printer to draw polygons in OIPI, but do not print the dimensions on the plane. The Font command has text angle, which one might think could do the job.

You could calculate the angle from point A-B, calculate the mid point and offset this to give the position of the XY for the text.

Send me an Email at [email protected], and I will send you some examples to give you an idea of possibilities.

What I do is print a legend with the dimensions, and then all you need to do is put a,b,c or 1,2,3 etc on the line, and this can be referred to in the legend of dimensions.
