I share tables between OpenInsight and AREV applications. I have discovered that while locking prevents simultaneous updates by ARev users or by OpenInsight users, it does not prevent an OpenInsight user updating the same row simultaneously as an Arev user. Consequently I am experiencing GRE's on a large scale. Please help.

Config: NLM server 1.5 , AREV 3.12, OpenInsight 3.7.1, Netware 3.12

[notag]This implies that you are running different network drivers on AREV vs OI. In AREV type WHO at TCL and in OI run NETDRV.EXE (whilst logged out) to validate this.

If, when you run OI, you are receiving a Fatal Open Engine Error (and I'm assuming it's ENG0805), you may need to install Novell's client on your workstation. You may be able to get away with placing NWCALLS.DLL and NWIPXSPX.DLL, both which come with Novell's Client32, in the workstations' \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory if you'd like to retain use Microsoft's client. Lastly, make sure you have the REVPARAM file placed with text 'SERVERONLY=1' in all directories containing an .lk file (anywhere linear hash is going to be accessed by ARev or OI).
