Well, how do you remove correctly? I use clear button and clearing the index lookup still leaves the popup active.

The other possibility is that the window did not compile correctly. Examine the SYSREPOSWINEXE struture to see if it contains an indexlookup or a popup call. Failing all else mail us the compiled window and we'll tell you.

If I save_as my E_PROJECT to E_PROJECT_BAK the new form works properly and the options popup is gone.
I deleted E_PROJECT records in form executables and in forms,
opened E_PROJECT_BAK and did save_as E_PROJECT.
Guess what, the BUG is back in E_PROJECT.
I am tearing my hair off with this.

Still waking up here, but isn't this a problem only with scripted events? I thought this was a QuickEvent and thus wouldn't be subject to the orphaned event situation. That's why I would have suspected the form didn't compile correctly.
FWIW, one way that we deal with this type of problem is to recreate the event and do something simple (like display a message box), compile and test, and then remove the event again. This usually clears any residual event calls.
