I am trying to upgrade to OI32, bu when I select the account/application, OI gives an Out of Memory error in Oengine.exe.

What I tried to do next, was to remove all tables from the Database Manager and re-add the tables again. It gave me the same Error Message.

Any suggestions?

What platform are you running on? Win98?

I'm running on a Window 98 Platform.

Any Ideas!

David,

I believe there are known problems running on straight Win98 and is not officially supported on that platform. OI32 is supported on Win98 Second Edition.

Pat,

I'm getting this same problem, although my OS Win 98 SE (4.10.2222 A). Is there something more to it than that, ie any patches?

Cheers, M@

I am not really sure exactly what the problems are with Win98 and company, Mike did most of the Win98 testing and my development machine is Win2K.

I know that Donald Bakke did a lot of Win98 testing and everything is working hunky-dory for him on that platform. Hopefully he will chime in on what configurations work for him.

*Exactly* when does the out of memory condition occur?

Pat

I'd be interested to know the specifics as well. As far as configuration…what configuration? We didn't do anything special to our Win98SE workstations in order for OI32 to work just fine.

Pat, Don

When I start Oinsight the splash screen comes up and a task button added to the task bar - but it is blank! When the splash screen eventually clears, the task button then shows as OpenEngine. A short time later a message appears "Out of Memory" with caption "Unrecoverable Runtime Err…" (can't see the rest).

Click OK on that and then I get another message:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!
Program C:\WC40\OENGINE.EXE
abnormal program termination

I clear that but Oinsight is left running but 'Not Responding'

The OI network driver is the "All Networks Driver ver 1.5"

Hope that helps. I wouldn't be toooo surprised if it turns out there's something dodgy with this workstation though.

Cheers, M@

Wonderful message. Next time please do a screen dump (Alt+PrtScr), paste into an image file and mail the result to me. I collect 'em. :-)

Sorry I can't help you, though. :-(

I'm getting a little further with this and it looks specific to the application. I've downloaded the oi32 upgrade again and applied it on a copy of a 3.7.0 system. This time I can log into SYSPROG. However when I then try to Open our application, the Oengine log gets this far before an Out Of Memory error:

Begin processing time: 2/25/2002 16:50:08 RUN SWAP_DATABASE 'COLLECT' Stop processing time: 2/25/2002 16:50:12 Execution time: 3974 milliseconds. Execution status: failed. Error code: FS401.

The DBT is 176Kb in size. Looks like something isn't attached, but why?

Cheers, M@
