Btree Indexes - Unknown Error (OpenInsight 32-Bit)

Have removed all dictionaries and rebuilt only the one I was trying to index so there would be no 'garbage' from arev hanging around.
Have verified both the table and the dictionary, No Errors
Checked Sizelock it is zero.
The files attributes are okay
The status message, - can it help me determine the problem?
Sorting x/total records …. - 18
What does the 18 refer to?

Since you've checked everything else, do you have enough disk space for the temporary files?

There is 8 GB of free space on the machine. The file only has 14000 records, and I have added indexes to larger files.
Could it be data related? I have run reports listing the field I want to index and can see nothing wrong.
