As part of upgrading applications from 10.0.8 to 10.1 my users need to validate 10.1 in a separate system (we call it a training system). This is because their production system runs 24x7x365 and any shutdown over 2 hours can cause the manufacturing plant to start shutting down. So they have to validate the production cycle before any changes are implemented. These same users need to retain access to their production 10.0.8 system until the production upgrade occurs.

So the question is how should the client installs be managed to not cause an issue with either system:

   Keep the 10.0.8 client until the production site is upgraded ?

   Upgrade the users client to 10.1 w/ actually testing the client ?

   Install both 10.0.8 and 10.1 at the same time ?

   Keep the 10.0.8 client as there is no real change in the client ?

Lots of questions, few answers…………………

Coming from 7.3 systems, maintaining a client install was never an issue so I am curious how others are managing this process.
