OpenInsight deals with case in OS paths by converting all path references to upper case. Windows, on the other hand, is incapable of handling case but converts paths to lower case. Linux is case-sensitive and uses case as typed.

The importance of these distinctions was made evident to me when I replaced my Linux fileserver. By accident, my OPENINSIGHT development folder was copied to the new server twice: once from Linux, and then again from a Windows workstation. This resulted in two folders: OPENINSIGHT and openinsight. Confusion ensued.

The LH Verify and Fix GFE tools in Database Manager are pretty good, but Verify seems slow to me…especially in Sysprocs.
