When running reports set to display MVs as multiple records, the report displays values properly up until the point where it encounters a null row (especially for symbolics)

Depending on the report type either no more information will be displayed in this row (no soo bad), or in reports such as stationary layouts where there is additional information in the Header and footer

(eg. MV represented as wrapping Single values) then really weird things can occur such as seemingly random placement of report information in OTHER fields. ie. header infomation appearing in Detail section etc.

When customers do this (generally because they have entered a null value in cost etc.) then we show them how to correct it. However, most them are very worried the first time they see it thinking that there data may be corrupted!

The MV rows are displayed in the Details section of the report, and in an invoice would be the Item descriptions/cost etc. We can get around this problem by making them single and wrapping - but of course this is not satisfactory as descriptions etc. may run wider than the width allowed within the report.

I'm wondering if this is a known problem, and if so, has it has been fixed?

We are using OI 3.5, Win. 95 and send the criteria using revelationbasic. Thanks in advance for any responses.

James,

This is a known bug in reporter and has been fixed for the 3.6 release. The work around for now is to put a space in the empty mv field.
