I would like the server with Oinsight to be able to attach Linear Hash files on another server when called via OECGI2.

In the past we could do it using an attach_table command using the UNC path (ie: APPSERVER1HS/SYSTEMS/OINSIGHT/DATABASE) with Sambar server and OI installed on the same server and OECGI configured to use a Dynamic Engine. I guess it boils down to under what Windows 2003 username is the Oengine started when called from the OEngineServer/OESocketserver. I am hoping the attach will work if I give permission to the above share for this Windows 2003 username. Any help is appreciated, Thanks, Hank </QUOTE> —- === At 03 AUG 2007 11:12AM The Sprezzatura Group wrote: === <QUOTE>It is running in the context of IIS so you need to give whichever user runs the IIS process the rights. When you say the OENGINE service do you mean the socket server running as a service? The chances are that it'll be running as the local network service which by default won't have access to other machines. In the services app see what the service logs on as and work from there. Changed the log on of the socket service from Local System account to one with rights to the UNC share and all is well. </QUOTE> View this thread on the Works forum...
