I'm missing something here!

I'm trying to install a full deployment that was made to subdirectory c:\fleet. I created the application fleet and ran the tried to run the rdkinstall from the Exec Line and got the following in the results viewer window.

run rdkinstall "c:\fleet"

C:\FLEET

SSP280: table "SYSUPGRADE" not found at "C:\FLEET" , filing system "RTP57".

I'm not sure what it is trying to tell me!

Should I log into the new application fleet before issuing the rdkinstall?

Thanks for any help.

Robert

I may be off here - but I think if you are doing a full deployment, that the directory you deploy to will contain the runtime exe, all data, repository, etc. You should then just be able to run the OI executable in that (c:\fleet) directory to execute the runtime version.

The rdkinstall program is only necessary after deploying an application update, so you can install the update to the runtime copy.

Jeff's answer is correct. If you made it through a Full System Deployment, that deployed directory should contain your runtime application in it's entirety.

RDKInstall is a function that would be run to install an upgrade module into the runtime system.

It wouldn't suprise me to find out I didn't know what I was doing!

Maybe I'm going at the problem all wrong. The client has a full development copy. Their copy is virgin (nothing else on it). What I'm trying to accomplish is move the completed application from my License onto theirs.

Any suggestions as to how I accomplish that task would be appreciated.

Thanks

Robert

Robert,

The easiest way is to use APPBACKUP to backup your application, create the application on the client's system, then use APPBACKUP to restore the application. This assumes, however, that you are not using any inherited entities. Otherwise you will need to use the RDK, but use the Application deployment option on your end and RDKInstall on the client's end.

Just copy the tables over by themselves (zip them up if necessary) and use Database Manager to attach them.
