I am unsure about where to find a reference to the startup commands for my Arev application. I know that when I launch the application, a certain routine is run to initialize all of my environment variables but am unable to find from where this program is originally called. Where can I find what routine is called when I start my application?

Check your VOC for an entry called

USERNAME

or

ACCOUNT

or

LOGON

substituting your username/accountname as appropriate. If this fails go into the environment record for the account in SYSPROG and see what the startup command is.

You didn't mention the version of ArevDOS.

I think version 1 and 2 attached a VOC for the application as found in the REVBOOT location. The startup command is there.

Often, in that startup command you attached a VOC belonging to the

application NOT stored in the REVBOOT location. The original item continued to run.

So, you can use the SETALIAS (formerly SETFILE) command to connect the VOC for that application in location REVBOOT and use Sprezz'z suggestion to find the startup VOC item.

Multiple VOC files is one of those gotchas one has to look out for. They can occur in any version of ARev depending on what some developer had done in the past. They are more likely to occur in v3.x versions that have been updated from earlier versions. One should do a LISTMEDIA on all volumes, attached or not. Usually the VOC file in the volume where the other application/account system files such as HELP, MENUS, TEMPLATES/WINDOWS is the one that is first attached on login.
