I'm trying to move our webserver where we use oecge.exe for a webservice. When I try to call INET_TRACE I recieve msg: OECGI RevCreateEngine failed Error 3, what have I done wrong?

You may be encountering an issue with the web server software itself. What web server software did you use and what are you using now?

OECGI.exe isn't supported on recent releases of IIS server. It has been replaced by OECGI3.exe. I recommend you verify that your version of OpenInsight is supported on the server operating system. You may be encountering a DEP or permissions issue that affected older versions of OpenInsight. As a test, are you able to launch OpenInsight on the server?

Well the old server was windows server 2003 and the new one is 2008. so that could be the reason then. When i try to start a OI application on the new server it works fine, (OI 8.0.1). So I can use OECGI3.exe instead?

Since you can launch OInsight.exe on the server console you are probably not encountering a DEP security block.

OECGI3 is not part of that OpenInsight version and running OECGI is not supported on server 2008. However, it looks like someone did have success getting it to work. You can read about it at this forum posting. It also includes some reasons not to use older versions of OECGI. Please see if anything in the post resolves your setup issue.

Thanks for your reply! I disided to try OECGI3 instead but when I try to call it the computer more or less crash, cpu at 80 % and nothing happens
