"1. Is there a capability within OI to access and save to a shared network drive (as opposed to saving the data to the hard disk (c: drive etc.)? The idea is that multiple users (like 3) would have the basic OI application loaded on their desktops/laptops, but the actual data would be on a mutual shared drive. Can OI be configured that way?"

Hello all - We received this question from a client. Context is that it takes an administrative act of God/Allah/Buddha (etc.) to load an application on a server, but they think they can get away with it if only the *data* resides on the server.

I know we can attach the data from just about anywhere, but how would this work in regards to SDP's, Network Products, record locking…?

TIA,

Mike O.

But that has to be installed on the server… so in my scenario the answer is really "no". Yes?

Well we have clients who run apps locally and attach central data with nothing on the server but a UD so…

Interesting - our scenario was local networks attaching a central server NOT workstations attaching a shared disk for data. This becomes a quagmire from a licensing perspective. Sorry for the misdirection.
