When I am in the editor working on a program (probably all edits) I can accidentally close that tab and there is no warning message … shouldn't there be?

Hi, Dave. Yes, there should indeed be a warning if you try to close something in the editor that's changed. I can't seem to recreate the problem here - I have multiple tabs open, I change something in one of them, and then I either close the tab (by pressing "X") or activate another tab and then click on the "x" on the original tab (just to see if it was a matter of who had the focus). In both cases, I get a message telling me the stored procedure has changed and do I really want to exit.

Is there anything that I described that's different than what you're doing?

not at all … that is what i am doing. <shrug> Didn't make sense that it was happening .. in fact a few problems i reported/asked about today are odd … but there you go.. Probably more of that code .. "IF USER=DSIG…"
