Is there a way to programatically change the current application without logging out and back in?

Short of rolling all the applications into one, I don't believe it can be done. If someone can prove me wrong, I'd really like to know how.

You can change the database on the fly, just look at what happens in the OpenEngine log when you open an app from the Application Manager - Although OE might be happy with this I'm not sure whether PS would so you may get problems there
