!!! URGENT !!!

My client would like to use Courier 8 point for all reports from report builder. How can I change the default point size?

Thanks

Simon Yiu.

Simon,

In the Reporter select Tools-]Options-]Default Fonts and you can choose the default fonts for the reporter.

You can set the default fonts in the Tools | Options… menu when you start Reporter. There is a section for Default Fonts, and youwould set the font for each section in the reports. This would then affect any new reports being created.

As for already created reports, you would have to set the font for each field on the report, as far as I know. ( Highlight the field, and then select Format | Character… from the menu )

Hi Tracy,

Thanks you for your reply. My problem is REPORT BUILDER, not REPORTER.

Thanks

Simon-

Sorry I haven't posted anything to you sooner. I had gotten a hint that the key is setting the OI font, since ORMAIN is simply a form that uses BASIC+ to do it's reporting. So I've been playing around with setting the fonts in various parts of OI. so far I haven't found the place to actually do that yet. I'll keep trying it out.

Tracy,

I would be very pleased to learn of an stratergy to set fonts in Report Builder (or prior to running RLIST to printer) also.

Also is there a way of setting the printer to landscape (from Portrait) and visa versa programatically without requiring the user to respond to the WINDOWS dialog?

My client would like to know how long will you take to solve the problem? Please let me know the estimated time.

Thanks

Simon

Richard,

To the best of my knowledge, in Report Builder (OR_…) you cannot change to portrait or change the font.

Thanks Cameron for the … er bad news

I kind of feared that and have been trying to explore alternatives. One possibility is writing to a DOS file the reading / merging into a MS Word document. Another alternative is using DDE to get their directly. I guess I'm trying to explore every alternative that may end up producing a flexable but satisfactory ad hoc report generator for clients using existing RevSoft tools.

It would be real neat if we could control the font size for RList type report to printer - say to put it into 8 point New Courire (needd not worry about proportional sapace).

Thanks anyway.

I know this is a blatant plug but is there a reason you aren't using SLIST? All our users love it and it does all you want and more. The latest fully functional demo is available for download from our web site and even installs using Installshield. You still need to download the shareware version of oipi to make it work but….
