I think there must be length limitation, however, I just want to verify. I looked in my manual, but didn't see any reference to this.

Reason I'm asking this question is that I just changed the name of an EditTable. Now when I try to move through the EditTable, I will break to debugger and get an error message SYS1000: Error Loading program.

The message displays the name of the Event program (PosChanged) minus two (2) letters at the end.

After trying various things, I used a shorter name for the EditTable and now everything seems okay. Based on this, I think there's a limitation. If there is one, could someone be so kind to tell me what that may be.

Yes, there is a length limitation. This is usually discovered with menus because they can get very long unless you manually rename them.

In this case I remembered that Cameron had made a response to a similar question. So it was just a case of figuring out the relevant search words (which in this case wasn't too difficult), do a Site Search and sift through the result.

But even when my memory fails me (i.e, most of the time), I can often find relevant postings with Site Search.

Also I keep extensive electronic notes. I have these half-yearly Word files where I paste in useful and potentially useful stuff from the discussion lists, along with notes on my own development and support work. These files are not particularly tidy. Everything comes in a jumble. But they are very useful. E.g a client calls in with a system error message; I search the files for the error code/message and find notes from earlier cases of the same problem with other clients, or cases from the web discussion.

Sometimes one can even find answers in the OI help files.

Excuse me, but just because it's paper doesn't mean it unsearchable, I have my papers index and categorized by various subject, e.g., editline, edittable, popup, forms, indexing, etc. This does help me find things. Of course, it may not be as fast if it were electronic, but you can search. How in the world do you think the bible was written – with electronic references?

Also, let me kill two birds with one stone here …

I did that I'm sure. For example, click Development, click "Check-out", select "new check-out", then "ok", select "from", enter the folder path via browse, click "entities" then I get the message about "there are no checkout for the current user."
