Our (4-soon 7) remote users connect to Arev on our Novell 5 network via PCAnywhere using 128K frame relay T1 connection.

I'm looking into Citrix as a solution to poor PCAnywhere performance.

Does the info in the knowledgebase article 'Citrix WinFrame: Software Configuration Requirements' still apply or has it been updated? Our vendor was unsure of the print setup and has heard of printing problems when running dos apps on citrix. I don't want to pursue this if we won't expect to see an increase in performance and more reliable printing. Any input?

Maggie - which version of AREV are you using?

We have clients running this configuration with 20+ users in three states of Australia (back to one database in Melbourne) using CPUPLUS and AREV 3.12 under Citrix with no problems.

Currently using 2.12 but will be upgraded to 3.12 this summer. I will be sharing data files with OI while slowly making the transition so we will be running both 3.12 and OI. Will we see an increase in speed and printing reliability over PCAnywhere? Citrix setup will be a sizeable investment for us-I need to show its benefit.

We're not really here to sell you on the merits of Citrix, or proclaim its feasibility. There are few solutions to consider for WAN technology. Citrix, once tuned, beds down pretty well, although we'd strongly advise you model your solution on an pre-existing site with similar scale and resource requirements.

More importantly, a purely Revelation Software based solution is closer than you think. All we can say is stay tuned for the August Conference in Las Vegas and some forthcoming announcements re OI32!
